Spend a night or two enjoying its many attractions before embarking on the ferry
crossing to Oslo, Norway's capital city, a lovely city in a beautiful setting at the head of the
Oslo Fjord. The ferry across the waters of the Kattegat and Kagerrak which separate
Denmark from Sweden and Norway takes 16 and a half hours. Two ferries operate the Oslo to Copenhagen
ferry route on a daily basis, departing from the two cities in the early evening
and arriving at their destination next morning. Cars must check in no later than
30 minutes before departure.
DFDS Copenhagen Oslo ferry timetable and fares
The two ferries which operate the Oslo to Copenhagen ferry crossing are more
like floating hotels than ferries. The Scandinavians have become accustomed to treating
these ferries as places to enjoy some time away from home, and the facilities they
offer
have developed accordingly.
The
Crown of Scandinavia was built in 1994 and can accommodate 1900 passengers and
450 cars. There are no fewer than 11 bars, cafés and restaurants offering something
for everyone. Add to this a cinema, nightclub, disco and shops, plus a range of
comfortable en suite cabins and the journey between Oslo and Copenhagen is bound
to be fun and relaxing. If you must work there are even conference facilities on
board.
Ferry duties on the Oslo Copenhagen route are shared by the sister ship the
Pearl of Scandinavia. This ship carries 2000 passengers and 350 cars. Both ships
enjoy similar
facilites, so whichever one you take on the overnight journey from Denmark to Sweden
you will experience the same level of comfort.
