 The
Irish Ferries' crossing from Rosslare to Roscoff in north-western Brittany
operates from mid-May to the end of September. The Rosslare Cherbourg route is
served by the luxurious vessel the Oscar Wilde, which alternates this crossing
with its year-round ferry crossing between Rosslare and Roscoff.
The ferry departs from both the French port of Roscoff and the Irish port of
Rosslare during the afternoon. The crossing takes about 17 hours, so you spend a
night on board and arrive at your destination late morning. Check for up to date

The Oscar Wilde really is a cruise ferry, and sailing on her seems as if you
are on a cruise - a far cry from the ferries of old. She is fully equipped with
all the facilities to make your ferry journey as comfortable and enjoyable as
possible.
To pass away the time there are two cinemas showing the latest releases. The
children have their own play area with films, games and books, while there is
shopping for the grown-ups.
The Oscar Wilde boasts a waiter service restaurant, a steakhouse, and several
bars plus the Gaiety Lounge which features live entertainment in the summer and
the Merrion Lounge where you can enjoy some relaxation.
After all this activity you can retire to your comfortable modern cabins.
There are 2 bed and 4 bed cabins, all with ensuite as well as a small number of
cabin suites.
Rosslare is easy to reach being just off the main road between Dublin and
Cork. Roscoff is perfectly placed as a jumping off point for the rest of
Brittany and France, with a good road to nearby Morlaix where you join the dual
carriageway towards Rennes and Nantes. Or of course you can just stay around and
enjoy the wonderful scenery in western Brittany.
