Irish Ferries - Ireland Britain and France ferry crossings
Ireland Britain and France ferries with Irish Ferries.
Irish Ferries
have positioned themselves as a value for money ferry operator between Ireland,
Wales and France. They claim that their all-in prices compare favourably with
the low-cost carriers, where the advertised price is rarely the price you end up
paying. With Irish Ferries not only are there no surcharges, you can take all
the luggage you can cram into the car!
Irish Ferries operate two ferry crossings between Ireland and France and two
between Ireland and Wales. From Dublin they sail to Holyhead, while all their
other crossings, to Pembroke, Roscoff and Cherbourg, depart from Rosslare in
south-east Ireland.
The Holyhead to Dublin ferry crossing uses both a
conventional ferry and a fastcraft ferry. The conventional ship, the
Ulysses cruise ferry, takes 3
hours and 15 minutes for the journey, while
the fastcraft, the Jonathan Swift, gets from Holyhead to Dublin is just 1 hour
49 minutes!
The other ferry routes from Pembroke to Rosslare, Cherbourg to Rosslare and
Roscoff to Rosslare are all served by modern conventional ferries. These ships
are highly specified with all the facilities to help make your journey as much
fun as possible. To find out more about what each ship has to offer visit the
page for your crossing.
The ferries from Rosslare to Cherbourg and Pembroke sail all year round,
except for the Christmas period, while the Rosslare Roscoff ferry crossing
operates from mid-May until towards the end of September.
