Stena Line Ferries - Holyhead Dun Laoghaire ferry crossings
Holyhead Dun Laoghaire ferries with Stena Line.
The Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire Irish sea ferry crossing is operated around the
year, using two different fast ferries, the mighty Stena Explorer in the summer
and the recently refurbished (early 2010) and slightly faster Stena Express for the remainder of the year.
From the end of June to early September travel by the world's largest
fastcraft ferry between Holyhead and Dun Laoghaire on the HSS Stena
Explorer. This impressive vessel zips across the
Irish Sea in just 2 hours.
Then throughout the year the Stena Express manages the Irish Sea crossing in
just 1 hour 50 minutes. Both vessels offer a wide range of facilities to ensure
the short journey seems even faster.
There are a range of lounges to choose from, which also includes, for a small
extra payment, the Premium Stena Plus Lounge, offering complimentary snacks and
personal service to your seat. There's an observation area at the front of the
ship, Barista Coffee Lounge, Food City restaurant, and the Metropolitan Bar, as
well as on board shopping and a play area for kids. The vessels offers free Wi-Fi
if you have your own laptop, PDA or smartphone. All you need is your access card
from reception.
Situated just 7 miles (11km) south of Dublin City Centre, Dun Laoghaire is a
bustling harbour town with a pleasant promenade and seafront. It has a wide
range of shops and restaurants so is a great place to spend a few days, with
easy access to Dublin. Dun Laoghaire is also well-placed as the starting point
for a car journey through Ireland.
Holyhead is at the tip of Anglesey in North Wales, at the end of the A55.
Wales offers spectacular scenery, historic towns and castles and great beaches.
In other words, something for everyone, including its lively, bustling and
attractive capital city, Cardiff. |
